Tollymore WIth a Dash of adventure (12miles)
A route that takes in some of the best parts of Tollymore Forest in Northern Ireland, but also adds a little bit of the open foothills of the mountains and a cross-country shortcut.
Location: Tollymore Forest Park, Northern Ireland
Difficulty: Advanced
Start in Tollymore Forest Park carpark, descend to the river and follow the trail through and out of the forest park and out onto the open foothills of the Mourne Mountains.
Double back at the ford on the Trassey Track before following a stone wall cross country back towards Tollymore.
Watch out for gorse bushes.
You might have to hop a wall to get back into the forest park. Finish with a couple of hill climbs and a descent into the forest before looping back to the carpark.
